The blog was established to increase our voice in the scientific community. The Travis lab prides itself on the diversity of research that lab members are driving forward, so we hope to update you on the interesting work being done my some of the researchers both in the Travis lab, as well as collaborators at Florida State and across the world. In addition to current research, the blog plans to highlight some past research that has been done since the website was last updated, giving our readers a great idea of what the Travis lab is all about. We even plan to spotlight some of our undergraduate researchers that have gone above and beyond to gain valuable experiences as DIS students. We’ll also give you an insight into what it’s like being a graduate student in the lab, whether it’s your first year or your fifth.
Whether you are a college student interested in our work & wanting to get hands on experience, a graduate wanting to continue your education at FSU, or a livebearing fish enthusiast, you get involved in the blog too! Let us know what research you want to hear about or what you’ve enjoyed about past posts by commenting. We may occasionally even feature readers’ blogs posts about their unique experiences in the sciences or fish rearing communities. In this way, you, the readers, can help dictate the direction of the blog for years to come.
The Travis Lab hopes you enjoy the blog posts and Keep Reading!
